A Health Notebook.

I love finding great yet simple ideas on the web.  This could turn out to be either, but is an important way to take care of your own health.  Take a look.  You should know more about your health – along with the records and details involved – than anyone.

Daily Awakenings

There are many ways to work on staying positive and young.  This is a great article that will help you to stay focused – http://www.everydayhealth.com/publicsite/news/view.aspx?id=628318&xid=nl_EverydayHealthEmotionalHealth_20090626

Growing older is not optional – growing old is.  Don’t ignore the ideas of positive thinking.  Learn to pinch the negative thoughts off at their origin – as you think them.  A great book to help you do this is “The Wind Is My Mother,” by a Native American Medicine Man named Bear Heart.  I know that everyone f rom Oprah on down recommends books to us, but this is a great one with such an interesting and positive message about controlling your own thoughts.  Keep Growing.

Be A Woman!

What does this mean?  Be A Woman.  Well, sheesh.  It means what I want it to mean because this is my blog.  In this case, it means embrace your age, your looks, yourself, your life, your situation, and love it.  If you don’t love any of the above (and chances are you don’t), then do something positive for yourself.  Create an affirmation (yeah, that awful old 80’s word that is back in vogue), connect it to some action (small actions are very good), and then add what this equation will accomplish.  Affirmation + Action = Miracle.  Sound too dramatic for you?  Then say Positive Thought + Action = Outcome.  Do you see the identical parts?  And I’m not talking about the “+” or the “=” marks.  Duh.  I’m talking about one word.  Starts with A.  That’s it!  You are brilliant.  The word is Action.  You must DO something.  Horrible as it sounds, yeah, that’s the way it works.  I am Fit + Exercise = Really Fit.  I read good books + buying good books = I am educated.  I am fashionable + studying fashionable = I look good.

This is going to be a blog about how women – particularly women over 50 because I am – can update their look, feel and act younger, and get back into life before the next decade sits deeper on your face.  Yes, it can be done.  Yes, you can feel younger.  Yes, your appearance can determine how you old you feel/are treated/are appreciated.  It can happen.  Stick with me – I’ll show you.
